Santa Clara, CA — November 1st, 2006 —
Polaris Wireless, the inventor of Wireless Location Signatures (WLS)™, today announced that Airadigm Communications selected its software-based location product to meet the Federal Communications Commission's Phase II E911 compliance requirements.
Airadigm Communications, which provides its services under the Einstein Wireless brand, is in the process of deploying the Polaris E911 product in its GSM network in Wisconsin. “We wanted the best performance and price from our E911 vendor so we chose Polaris after a rigorous competitive bid process,” said John Altamura, President of Airadigm.
With the software-only Polaris WLS™ product, carriers can deploy a city, a state or every site in the network quickly, with coverage for the entire customer base without requiring specialized handsets. In addition, Polaris WLS™ requires no additional hardware or backhaul for cell sites, dramatically reducing capital expenditures, deployment timeframes and maintenance costs for wireless carriers.
“We are always delighted when Polaris outperforms alternative location technologies and emerges as the most cost-effective, highly reliable way to quickly and completely enhance customer safety.” said Manlio Allegra, CEO of Polaris Wireless. “For metro and rural carriers alike, Polaris brings deployment, performance and operating benefits that are unmatched by other wireless location solutions.”
