E911 continues to generate news. The latest: TeleCommunication Systems has inked a multi-year service agreement to deliver E911 services to Centennial Communications. Separately, Polaris Wireless has unveiled new wireless E911 and location technology.
Although terms of the deal were not disclosed, Centennial is calling on TCS to deliver Phase I and Phase II E911 to its wireless subscribers in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Centennial will make use of TCS' Xypoint Location Platform, which provides the ten-digit callback number and originating location information of the emergency call made from a wireless phone to the public safety answering point.
