Job Description:
The Director of Product Marketing and Communications will be responsible for developing and implementing an outbound marketing and communications strategy for Polaris products and services. S/he will lead marketing efforts to maximize revenue opportunities with existing partners and services, implement marketing strategy for market and channel expansion, and manage the marketing communication and branding for Polaris Wireless. The position requires both a strategic view of the organization and its businesses, as well as the ability to execute on the business and product strategy. The ideal candidate will have experience leading product marketing and public relations for a mid-size Telecommunications focused organization. S/he will report directly to the Executive Director of Marketing and Business Development.
Responsibilities:
- Develop business plans and marketing requirements around one or more of the Company's existing or new products by analyzing market opportunities for the Company's core wireless location technology
- Identify key strategic business opportunities within the marketplace and work with executive team and product managers to execute
- Market / Industry analysis including the impact of macro and microeconomic factors on the new product / opportunity, revenue opportunity assessment
- Competitive analysis including creation and/or assessment of existing revenue and pricing models, risk assessment
- Marketing planning/mix analysis involving product branding, positioning, pricing, distribution and outbound communication strategies
- Work closely with executive staff to develop effective strategic marketing, product and sales go-to-market plans that are consistent and supportive of the company's goals and objectives

Represent Polaris Wireless actively in various industry events, conferences, partner events, analyst and media events etc.
- Support product roadmaps and implementation strategies and tactics for existing and new markets and verticals
- Work closely with corporate development to align contracts and contract templates to meet the objectives of pricing strategy
- Build and manage repository of Polaris Wireless design assets for use throughout the organization; including website, icons, logos, brochures, product brands, document templates, white papers, PR material etc.
- Manage public relations efforts, including close collaboration with external PR agency on press releases, media outreach, and event management
- Launch email marketing, social media, SEO campaigns as required in order to promote the Polaris Wireless brand globally
Qualifications:
The Director of Product Marketing and Communications must be highly entrepreneurial and a strategic thinker with a background in marketing new technologies and specialty products into the wireless market. S/he must have a good understanding of how to work with wireless carriers, infrastructure companies and other members of the target market's ecosystem.
- MBA or advanced marketing, finance, or business degree is desired
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or technologically relevant field is preferred
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in product marketing and marketing communications/public relations is desired
- Must have excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
- Experience in customer management, public relations, brand management is required
- Must be able to work in cross-functional teams including executive management team members
- Must be willing to travel as required
