Job Title: Project Engineer - GMLC

Job Description:

Project Engineer is responsible for technical solutions delivery and customer acceptance of Polaris projects. In this role, you will be an important member of the Operations team responsible for overall technical success of Polaris Wireless solutions and focus on GMLC implementations.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for technical aspects of end-to-end GMLC and commercial LBS solutions delivery, deployment, system integration with billing, provisioning systems and network elements; and customer acceptance of the project
  • Understand Customer requirements and dimension the GMLC system accordingly
  • Prepare bill of material for the proposed GMLC solution
  • Install and configure GMLC software
  • Prepare inter-operability test and acceptance test document
  • Perform inter-operability tests between GMLC, Polaris Software and Customer network elements
  • Perform acceptance tests in Customer network
  • Prepare and execute method of procedure in Customer network
  • Support project/program management for project planning, scheduling, technical risk assessment and mitigation
  • Lead on-site troubleshooting efforts, and work with engineering and development teams for a quick resolution
  • Prepare and present regular technical status report for internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant emerging technologies
  • Prepare technical training material, and deliver training programs

Qualifications:

 

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or technologically relevant field

Required Skills & Experience:

 

  • Minimum of 10 years of combined experience in  installation, system integration and deployment of GMLC
  • Minimum of 7 years experience working for a GSM or UMTS carrier and/or Wireless infrastructure vendors
  • Hands-on work experience with radio and core network nodes (BSC, MSC, HLR) of various vendors and interoperability with understanding of end-to-end call flow
  • Good understanding of installation, operations and admin tools for GMLC
  • Experience with location technologies deployment, system integration, and ability to design location technology solutions for carriers preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - ability to prepare and present comprehensive presentations to customers at all levels
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to succeed in a dynamic work environment
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Willing to travel worldwide to Customer locations
